Obituary of Katherine Mary Fagan RN

LTNS Nursing Sister, WWII Veteran 1915 - 2006 Katherine M. Fagan, of Heritage Court Moncton, NB passed away at The Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home on Tuesday November 14, 2006 at the age of 91 years. Born in Loggieville, NB on October 31, 1915 she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Marie (Brideau) Murdoch. She was a member of St. Augustines Roman Catholic Church. Katherine led her nursing class in Antigonish where she graduated from St. Martha's Hospital School of Nursing. She was a veteran of WWII having served in Italy and England as a nursing sister. She was a retired nurse from The Moncton Hospital and The G. L. Dumont Hospital as well as a private duty nurse. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Frank Fagan; daughter Ann of Calgary; sons Thomas of Ottawa, Barry and Frank Jr. both of Moncton; sisters Edna Donahoe of Oakville, ON, Geraldine LeBlanc of Mississauga, ON, and Gertrude Hachey of Moncton; brother Dr. Fred (Margaret) Murdoch of Fredericton; three grandchildren Dr. Shawn McDermott (Alana), Courtney DeGiano and Andrew; and two great grandchildren Emily and Colleen McDermott; sisters in law Mary Ann Murdoch, Jean Murdoch, and Janine Mudoch; also by many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her daughter Maureen in 1992; brothers Dr. Albert , James , Patrick, and Thomas. Resting at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. on Friday November 17, 2006 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Parish prayers will be held at the funeral home friday evening at 8:30pm. The funeral mass will be held at St. Augustines Roman Catholic Church on Saturday November 18, 2006 at 11:00 am with Father Phil Mulligan officiating. There will be a reception to follow. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery in the spring. In Katherine's memory, donations may be made to a United Way charity of your choice.
