Obituary of Joyce Melda Gilbert

Joyce M. Gilbert, of Moncton and formerly of Riverview, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at the age of 78 years. Born in Halifax, NS; on February 20, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Ida Mae (Steeves) Gardiner. Joyce was formerly employed with Save Easy on the Pine Glen Rd. Riverview and the Co-op Record St. Moncton before her retirement. Joyce was a avid card player and enjoyed darts, bowling and playing bingo. She was a member of the Moncton Air Force Vets A loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she will be sadly missed by her daughter, Sherry Lecointe (Edward) of Quispamsis, NB; her two sons Terence R. Gilbert (Linda) of Lower Sackville, NS. and Glenn W. Gilbert (Beth) of Moncton, NB; six grandchildren Mark, Jeffrey, Kortnie, Justin, Meaghan and Sherilynn; one brother Kenneth B. Gardiner (Joan) of Halifax; also by nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Robert W. Gilbert in 2003 At Joyce's request there is no viewing at the Funeral Home The funeral service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 11:00 am with The Rev. Karman Hunt officiating. Donations in Joyce's memory made to Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation "Renovating The Spirit" would be appreciated by her family.
