Obituary of John Currie Smith

John Currie Smith, 60, of Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, July 8, 2007. Born in Saint John, NB he was the son of the late Currie John and Hazel May (Hopper) Smith. He was a former employee of Firestone having worked in Moncton, Halifax and Fredericton. He was a member of the Glades Baptist Church. John was an avid NASCAR fan, he also enjoyed playing cards with his mother-in-law as his partner. He loved attending auctions, flea markets and eating out. A loving and caring husband, brother, son-in-law, uncle and friend he will sadly missed by his devoted wife of 24 years Marlene Smith, his sister Doreen Prosser (Bob) of Petitcodiac; brother Wayne Smith of Fredericton; father and mother in laws Arnold and Rosaline Tower of Turtle Creek; brothers-in-laws Doug Tower of Dieppe, Allan (Darla) of Rosevale and Terry (Della) of Riverview; nieces and nephews Cheryl, Patti, Ryan, Shawn, and Shelley; Jodi, Tommy, Samantha and Tabatha; uncle and aunt Eldon and Gloriana Hopper of the Glades, he will also be missed by his dog Sandy and cat Ginger. Besides his parents he was predeceased by an infant brother Resting at Riverview Funeral Home 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Robert Steeves officiating.
