Obituary of Annie Briggs Milton

It is with great sadness that the family of Annie Briggs Milton announces her passing at the Moncton Hospital on September 23rd, 2010 following a lengthy illness. Born in Cannan Station, NB on May 27th, 1925; she was the daughter of the late James Foster and Nellie (Thorpe) Sherwood. Annie worked many years as the manager of the Scenic Motel, and also worked at the Wandalyn Hotel and the Alcorn Restaurant. Sadly missed by her children Malcolm F. Briggs (Kathryn Anderson) of Riverview, Cheryl-Ann B. Huxter (Kenneth) of Steady Brook, NL, Deryl A. Briggs of Berry Mills, Jo-Leigh R. Lutes (John) of Steeves Mountain; step son James M. Milton (Joyce) of Saint John; sisters Winnifred Steeves (Leverett), Florence Shaffer both of Riverview; brother in law Ralph Prosser; aunt Sylvia Adams of England; 12 grandchildren Brenda Adams (Paul), Charles (Bridget) Briggs, Sarah (Rob) Carter, Tiffany, Craig (Paula) Huxter, Crystal (Robert) Knowles, Brad (Stephanie) Huxter, Matthew, Megan, Stephanie Briggs (and their mother Anne Gallager), Heidi and Devin Lutes. 10 great grandchildren Jessica, Kayla, Logan, Alec, Marissa, Micah, Rachel, Bethany, Luke, Isaac; also by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her first husband Lawrence C.M. Briggs; second husband Arnold W. Milton; sisters Eileen Milton and Elsie Prosser; and brother in law Floyd Shaffer. Resting at the Riverview Funeral Home on Saturday, September 25th, 2010 from 7-9pm, and on Sunday September 26th, 2010 from 2-4pm A Funeral Service will be held at the Riverview Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, September 26th, 2010 at 4pm with Rev. Don MacDougal officiating, and Dr. Robert Knowles assisting. Interment will be in the Stilesville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Annie made to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by her family.
