Obituary of E. Stella McKenna

E. Stella McKenna, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, September 13, 2007 at the age of 91 years. Born in Charlottetown, PEI; February 15, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Elizabeth (McGarry) Corrigan. Stella was employed as an RNA with the Moncton Hospital before her retirement. She attended St.Bernard's Roman Catholic Church. Sadly missed by 2 daughters Ann Shaw (James - Deceased) of Grimsby, On.; Patricia Boot (Douglas) of Toronto; three sons Michael (Charlotte) of Moncton, Brian (Kathy) of Willowdale, On; and Kenneth of Moncton, five grandchildren Karl (Jennifer), Kathleen (Peter), Patrick, Colin and Emily; three great grandchildren Brendan, Emma and Kaiya; she will also be missed by several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband J. Herbert McKenna in 1994 and by three sisters Mary Connelly, Gertrude Hughes and Hilda Cameron. At Stella's request there is no viewing at the funeral home. The funeral mass will be held at St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, Botsford Street, Moncton on Monday, September 17, 2007 at 1:30pm with Father Allison Carroll officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery. Donations in Stella's memory made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or to the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated.
