Obituary of S. Michael "Mike" Brown

S. Michael "Mike" Brown, passed away Monday, May 19, 2008 following a 2 1/2 year battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Born in Stoneham, Mass, USA, he was the son of the late Herman and Grace (Foley) Brown. He was a graduate of Stoneham High School and later served in the US Coast Guard. Mike was a resident of Riverview and he was owner operator of S. Michael Brown Pools, he retired in December 2007 after 32 years. Mike is survived by his long time companion Shirley Ritchie along with her family Barb (Ron) McKay, Ellen (Grant Woodworth, James (Donna) Ritchie, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, his brother Denis (Helena) Brown of Brazil, as well as his many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers David, James and Edward. Visitation will be at Riverview Funeral Home 214 Pine Glen Rd. on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 from 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at 1:00 pm with Rev Delbert Bannister officiating. At Michael's request, his remains will be forwarded to Finnegan Funeral Home, Stoneham Mass. for visitation. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Stoneham. Mass. on Friday, May 22, 2008 at 10:00 am with interment immediately following at St. Patrick's Parish Cemetery.
