Obituary of Ronald Charles Ford

The family of Ronald “RC” Ford is saddened to announce his passing on June 8, 2008 at the Moncton Hospital, at the age of 81 years. He was the husband of Sarah (Sade) Ford. Born on July 20, 1926, in Corner Brook, NFLD, he was the son of the late Samuel and Hilda Ford. He retired with 40 years service from CN Railway, without ever missing a day of work and was a member of St. Paul’s United Church in Riverview. Ron was an avid card player and loved to play crib with his friends on Thursday nights and “oh baby, baby, baby” did he love to get a good hand. Even at his sickest, he never missed a chance to check his lottery tickets. He loved visiting the chickens (the girls) when he visited Maine and had a fondness in his heart for beloved dogs, Arby and Tia. Besides his loving wife of 58 years, Ron leaves to mourn three daughters, Marguerite (Jim) Cerrato, Caribou, ME, Rhonda Ford, Riverview, and Cynthia (Keith) Whalen, Riverview; four grandchildren, Stephen Ward, Calgary, AB., Jason (Deanna) Ward, of Pouch Cove, NFLD, Melanie Warner, Riverview, and Tosha Whalen, Riverview; three great grandchildren, Jason Ward Jr., Anthony and Lily Warner; two sisters, Viola and Grace, both of NFLD; three brothers, Reg, Roy, and Ralph, all of NFLD; several nieces and nephews. Ron is predeceased by his parents and three brothers, Hector, Gus, and Eric. Ron’s big heart and love for his family kept him strong right until his final day and he will be loved and missed by all by his family and many friends. There will be no visitation or funeral service. A private memorial will be held in Ron’s memory on Tuesday, June 10, 2008. His ashes will be taken home to Newfoundland at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Diabetic Association would be appreciated by the family or the charity of the donors choice. Arrangements in care of Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Road, Riverview (857-8564). Online condolances can be made via www.tuttlefuneralhome.ca Service Information Tuesday, June 10, 2008
