Obituary of Phillip Patrick O'Brien

Phillip Patrick O'Brien, age 55 years of Lower Coverdale, passed away surrounded by his family at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, August 18th, 2008, following a brief illness. Born in Woodstock, NB on June 2nd 1953, he was the son of the late Abner and Dolly (Doherty) O'Brien. Phillip graduated from Sussex High School and worked with CNR for many years in Moncton then transferred to Montreal for 10 years where he worked as a computer information system analyst. While in Montreal he obtained a degree in Information Systems Management from McGill University. On return to Moncton, Phil opened a consultant business while continuing contract work for CNR and other various companies. Phil was more recently a real estate agent for Royal LePage Metro in the Moncton area where he received many awards. Besides his love for his family he enjoyed NASCAR racing, curling, biking on his Harley Davidson, golfing, and took great pride in his fish pond in his backyard. He was a member of the Country Meadows Golf Club and the Greater Moncton Real Estate Board. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Robin (Russell) O'Brien; son Sean O'Brien; sisters Liz (Tom) Hourihan of Palm Springs Ca, Marg (Jim) May of Colpitts Settlement NB; brothers Derrell (Ruth) O'Brien of Sussex Corner NB, Mike (Jeanie) O' Brien of Edmonton, AB. Predeceased by his brother Jimmy O'Brien. Resting at the Riverview Funeral Home with visitation on Thursday August 21st, 2008 from 7:00 - 9:00pm The funeral service will be held at the Riverview Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 22nd, 2008 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Charlotte Youland officiating. Donations in memory of Phil can be made to the NB Lung Association, Dr.G.L. Dumont Hospital (Dialysis Unit), Friends of the Moncton Hospital, or charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by his family.
