Obituary of Margaret C. Fitzgerald
Margaret C. Fitzgerald of Villa Du Repos, after a long and healthy life, went to be with her Lord after 113 years, on Tuesday October 20, 2009.
Born in Tankville, NB on September 16, 1896 she was the daughter of the late Rubin and Katherine (Godin) King. In younger years Margaret eagerly helped out with the daily duties on the family farm. After her husband's death, she returned to Moncton where she opened a convenience store. Margaret remained in her own home, until moving to The Villa in 1999. On her birthday in September, she was the oldest known person living in Canada.
Margaret’s only living relative is her nephew Reginald King of Moncton. She was predeceased by an infant son in 1930; son Reginald in 2002; sisters Alice and Lena; brothers Edmond, Wilfred "Fred", Waldo, Edward, and her twin brother Leo.
