Obituary of Shirley Joyce Thomas

Shirley J. Thomas of Salisbury passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, April 10, 2010 three days prior to her 78th birthday. Born in Halifax, NS, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Muriel (Falkenham) DeMone. She is an active member of the Salisbury United Church. A member of the Salisbury Reading Club, she enjoyed reading a good novel by her willow tree. She will be greatly missed by her daughters Joslyn Yelland (Alan Hennebury) of Halifax, NS, Nancy (Douglas) Boyce of Petrolia, On; son David B. (Linda) Thomas of Salisbury, NB; nine grandchildren; a great granddaughter, a great grandson, also a great grandson expected to arrive any day; brothers Roy DeMone of Halifax and Murray DeMone of Dartmouth, NS; sisters Audrie Knight of Wallaceburg, On, and Betty Wright of Lower Sackville, NS; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Besides her parents she is predeceased by and infant brother Roland, also by brothers Robert, Roy and Keith. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at The Riverview Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 11:00am with Rev. Danny Compton officiating, immediately after the service there will be a reception held at the funeral home. In Shirley's memory, donations made to the Oncology Department of the Moncton Hospital would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Riverview Funeral Home 214 Pine Glen Rd.
