Obituary of Florence Reardon

Florence Anna Reardon, widow of Hugh T. Reardon, passed away at Monarch Hall, on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the age of 94 years. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (MacDonald) Walton. She was a graduate of Aberdeen High School and went on to work as a secretary. She was a member of St. Augustine's CWL serving on the executive for many years. Florence was a member of the Moncton Lionettes and served as President. With Hugh in his capacity as an International Director of Lions International, she travelled throughout the world promoting Lionism. She was the recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship award for her service. Florence loved the game of bridge having played in "The Bridge Club" for over 50 years. She was a devoted wife to Hughie for 63 years and a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her two daughters Mary-Louise Sirois(Jacques) of Moncton, Patricia Brean Weir (Hugh) of Toronto; seven grandchildren George Sirois (Tracey), Elizabeth Rutledge (John), Marc Sirois, Martin Sirois (Natalie), Joseph Brean (Jane), Anna Brean and Tess Brean and nine great-grandchildren. She was a special aunt to her nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister Mary Butcher and her two brothers Gerald and Charles. Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home on Tuesday May 10, 2011 from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday May 11, 2011 at 11:00 am with Father Toner officiating. In Florence's memory, donations made to the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the exceptional care and attention given to Florence by the staff of Canterburry Hall and Monarch Hall.
