Obituary of Fred C Oickle

Fred C. Oickle of Riverview, NB passed away unexpectedly on August 6th, 2011 at the age of 82 years and was born on December 4th,1928 in West Northfield Lunenburg Co. just outside Bridgewater NS. Fred leaves behind Marcella, his loving wife of 58 years, his daughter Kim Brown (Bill) of Riverview and son Scott Oickle (Barbara) of Moncton. Grand children Nick, Jessica, Ryan & Lauren along with his sisters Grace Bruhm, Alice Conrad, Betty Conrad, Doris Conrad, Linda Steeves all of Bridgewater NS, Sylvia Thimot of Dartmouth NS. Fred was predeceased by his parents Wesley and Leda Oickle, brothers Clyde & Paul, & two young sisters. Fred retired from CNR after 43 years of dedicated service as a Superintendent of Track Maintenance which he truly enjoyed, retired from Canac International after 7 years of service and was a member of the CN Pensioners. He was a member of the St John the Baptist Anglican Church in Riverview for 48 years and their Men’s Club. Fred had many ongoing and active Masonic affiliations which were a big part of his life and he was very proud of, these included: 56 year member of Coverdale Masonic Lodge #52, F. & A.N., Moncton Lodge of Perfection A.A.S.R., Britton Chapter Rose Croix, N.B. Sovereign Consistory Valley of Saint John, Royal Order of Jesters, Royal Order of Scotland, Shriners A.A.O.N.M.S. (Luxor Temple) and the Moncton Shrine Club where he was past Chaplin. Fred will be remembered as a man who loved his family that was always there to help in any way he could. He enjoyed his career at CNR in the Atlantic Region Engineering Dept and was highly respected for his character & abilities by all that knew him. He worked diligently all his life to provide for his family and never shied away from hard work. Fred took life in stride; he never complained, and always remembered his humble beginnings. Resting at the Riverview Funeral Home 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview, NB. (506)857-9544, with visiting on Tuesday August 9th,2011 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. A Masonic service will be held at 6:30 pm. The Funeral Service will be held Wednesday August 10th, 2011 at 1 PM from St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, 28 Woolridge Street in Riverview NB. Remembrances may be made to St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, the Moncton Shrine Club, the Heart and Stoke Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
