Obituary of Shirley Patricia Ross

Shirley Patricia Ross, 79 years, of Spencer Memorial Home passed away at her residence, on Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Born in Saint John, NB on January 14, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Telanis (Medford) Akerley. She was a member of St. James Anglican church, and was a former member of the church choir. Shirley was a floral designer at Rick's Floral Shop in Riverview for many years prior to her retirement. She will be fondly remembered by her daughters Linda Godbout-Devegas and her husband Mario from Chile, Susan Smith and her husband Harold of Riverview, Patricia Boudreau and her husband Yvon of Riverview, Elizabeth Casey of Chile, Catherine Gould and her husband Eugene of Dieppe; son Reginald Ross and his wife Patricia of Riverview; sister Dorothy Campbell and her husband Earl of Saint John; grandchildren Diane, Aaron, Veronica, Melissa, Corey, Celine, David, Jennifer, Charlene, Edward, Michelle, Julie, Shelly, Ryan; great grandchildren Nathan, Bailey, Morgan, Shelby, Aiden, Tyler, Spencer, Abigail, Nicholas, and Diego; also by nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Ronald E. Ross in 1989. A private family visitation will be held. The funeral service will be held at St. James Anglican Church on Saturday December 31, 2011 at 11:00 am with Rev. Rufus Onyewuchi officiating and assisted by Gwyn Casey. Donations in Shirley's memory made to the Alzheimer's Society, the Canadian Cancer society or the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
