Obituary of Wallace Thompson Bell
Wallace Bell, 91 years, of Moncton, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, at The Briarlea Special Care Home on Saturday, September 1st, 2012. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late David (1958) and Clara (Boudreau) Bell (1956). Wallace retired from the CNR Claims Dept. after 42 years service. He was a member of Humphrey Memorial Church. He leaves many wonderful memories to his loving, devoted wife of 71 years, Hazel Mae (Spence) Bell; his loving daughters Carole of Moncton, Joan of Calgary Alberta and Heather (Brian "Barney" Williamson) of Riverview; sisters Jean Fowler, Joyce Bussie (Bob), Phyllis Parks and brother John "Jack" (Marg); special sister in law Hilda (Alfred); grandchildren Jeff Cherpeta (Teresa), Tracy (Andrew) Johnson, Derrick McGougan, Phillip and Andrew Williamson; also remembered by several nieces and nephews and very dear friends. Over the years, Wallace worked in Moncton for Dominion Stores, Swifts Meats, Lockharts before starting his career with the CNR in 1941 retiring in 1981. He loved the Outdoors. The Yearly fishing and hunting expeditions over the years created many great memories and hilarious stories with his brothers Alfred, Dan, Eddie and Jim, very special nephews Donnie, Danny, Billy and Jack Fowler. He was never without a story to tell! When he wasn't carrying a shotgun or fishing pole, there were long morning walks in the woods of Albert County, beachcombing at Waterside Beach with his family, at the camp in West River, cross country skiing by moonlight "back to the bog" with Hazel; several road trips across Canada with dogs, kids tents or trailers were just a few of his many favorite things he so enjoyed. First and foremost, his family meant everything to him. He was predeceased by his sisters Vera, Mildred, Lillian, Ada and Florence; brothers Alfred, Daniel, James, Edward, Nelson, William, Charles and Lloyd. Many thanks to Dr. Sheldon Rubin and nursing staff of the Moncton Oncology Clinic and Dr. Dow- to all- your caring and kindness will always be remembered. To the staff of The Briarlea - Mandy, Stacey, Deb, Carole and the rest of the girls, Dr. Pierre Beaulieu, David and Terry - you didn't just do your job- you all went above and beyond- you gave this wonderful gentle man (and us) such peace and comfort in his final hours - we love you all and will never forget.
