Obituary of Laurie Joseph Patrick Cormier

Laurie Cormier of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, March 15, 2013. Born in Moncton he was the son of the late Patrick and Ida (O'Brien) Cormier. Laurie was very proud of his military service flying bombers during the Second World War. He retired long ago after a distinguished career as a federal employee of the Department of Transportation. Survived by three sons, Gregoire (Kathy), Julien and Geatan Cormier; one daughter Simonne Preston; seven grandchildren Nicole, Renee, Deny (Mireille) and Danielle Preston, Liselle (Matthew) Dochstader, Ben and Bradley Cormier; four great grandchildren, Louka and Nico Preston and twins Taylor and Leila Dochstader. He is also survived by his recently divorced wife Margaret (nee Peters); two sisters, Marjorie (Walter) Drechsler and Pauline Hebert; two brothers, Harvey (Mavis) and Ronald (Shirley) Cormier. Besides his parents, Laurie was predeceased by his sisters Anita and Stella. A memorial service will be held at Tuttle Bros. Memorial Chapel on Monday, March 18th 2013 at 2:00 pm with Father Allison Carroll officiating. Remembrances in Laurie's memory made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation Geriatric Unit or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
