Obituary of Martin Peter Adrian Bevington

Martin Bevington, newly of Riverview, NB and formerly of Kelowna, BC, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday January 6, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.

Born in England, Martin was the son of the late Peter and Sheila Smith. He enjoyed a successful career as an IT Specialist and later retired from BigSteelBox Co. Martin took pride in his work and was known for his intelligence, problem-solving skills, and dedication.

Martin will be remembered as a kind and thoughtful man who valued time with family and friends. He appreciated life’s simple pleasures, and brought humour and warmth to those who knew him. Above all, Martin cherished the love and companionship he shared with his wife, Leanne, whom will greatly miss Martin's laugh as will anyone who knew him.

Martin is survived by his beloved wife, Leanne Bevington; his sisters, Nicola Glynn (Tim) of Rotherfield, England, and Fiona Veacock (Phil) of London, England; his step-brother, Paul Runuckles (Joey) of Norwich, England; his father- and mother-in-law, Wayne and Terry Bevington of Penticton, BC; his brother-in-law, Jeff Bevington (Tara) of Victoria, BC; and his cherished nieces and nephews, Elliott Glynn-Smith, Daisy Veacock, Ruby Veacock, Hannah Runuckles, Kate Runuckles, Liam Bevington, Callum Bevington, and Niola Bevington.

In keeping with Martin’s wishes, there will be no public services held.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Fergusons Riverview Funeral Centre & Fergusons Crematorium, 214 Pine Glen Road, Riverview (506-857-9544).
