1936 - 2025

 

Vaughn Harwood Murray, 89, of Riverview, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital with family by his side on Monday, December 8, 2025.

 

Born in Gaspereau Forks in 1936, Vaughn was the son of the late Lester and Ramona (Stevenson) Murray. He enjoyed a long and rewarding career with Canadian National Railways, proudly serving as a Locomotive Engineer for 38 years. Many years Vaughn enjoyed hunting, fishing and sure loved camping in St. Andrews with the love of his life.

 

Vaughn was loved by his beloved wife of 69 years, Mildred (Wallace) Murray; his children Paula (David) Clark of North Forks, William (Irene) Murray of Riverview, Pamela (David) Melanson of Moncton, Lonnie (Donna) Murray of Riverview; and Carla (Stanley) McCormick of Upper Coverdale. He will also be deeply missed by his many grandchildren Neeka, Tanya, Matthew, Kelita, Dylan, Alysha, Jordan, Cassandra (Cassie), Cody and Kendra, and great-grandchildren Jillian, Zachary, Morgan, Riley, Mattie, Wyatt, Korie, Walker, Rachael, Zander and Colson.

 

Vaughn is also survived by his siblings Dr. Donald Murray (the late Morag), Carol Fowler (the late Mancel), Myrtle (Junior) Campbell and Barry Murray (Cindy).

 

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Robert (Bobby) Murray, granddaughter Erin (Murray) Campbell, brothers, Weyman Murray, William (Carmen) Murray and Dennis Murray.

 

The family would like to thank the staff of The Moncton Hospital (4100, 4600, ICU, Palliative Care Unit) for providing care and support to Vaughn and family.

 

A special thank you to our daughter Pamela and grandson Matthew for all the care and hours spent with Papa during his hospital stay.

 

In keeping with Vaughn’s wishes, no visitation or service will be held.
