Obituary of Richard John McLean

Richard John "Rick" McLean

1963 - 2025

Richard John “Rick” McLean, 62, of Irishtown, passed away peacefully at the Albert House Hospice SENB on Sunday, December 7, 2025, with his favorite oldie country songs playing softly in the background, set by his son.

Born in Harcourt, NB, Rick was the son of the late Robert and Paula (MacIsaac) McLean. He spent many dedicated years working as a truck driver. During his earlier years, while living in Calgary, AB, with his wife and son, Rick enjoyed fishing with his family on lakes in his free time. After retiring, Rick enjoyed his passion for golf with friends at Maplewood Golf and Country Club. Along with golf, Rick took pride in helping his son with home renovations and managing stock for Brody McLean Tools Inc. Rick was the kind of man who knew at least a handful of people in any room, always offered a helping hand, and was known for his sense of humor. Rick will be remembered for his warm spirit and the genuine kindness he shared with all who knew him.

Rick is survived by his beloved wife, Joanne Leger; his son, Brody McLean (Tanycia) of New Scotland; and his cherished granddaughter, Lacey. He is also survived by his stepfather, Ralph Noseworthy of Irishtown; his sister, Rhonda McLean of Moncton; his half-sister, Diane McLean of Edmonton; his half-brother, Jason McLean of Calgary; Uncle Ronald MacIsaac (Geri), and cousins Mark, Daniel, Shawn and Neil.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Maplewood Golf and Country Club, 2572 Route 115, Irishtown, NB, on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

In Rick’s memory, donations to Albert House Hospice SENB are appreciated.
