Obituary of Brian Rietzel

Brian Rietzel of Moncton, NB, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the age of 73 years. Born in Moncton, he was a son of the late Arnold and Marie (Jones) Rietzel.

Brian was a retired Chief Steward of the Moncton Elks Club with over 33 years of service. He was also a member of the Moncton Press Club, Moncton Airforce Vets and the Maplewood Golf Club.

Brian is survived by his three sons, Michael (Tracy), Brian Jr. (Krista) and Shawn Rietzel (Amanda), stepdaughter, Deborah Smith (Kevin) and stepson, Justin (Melissa); siblings, Marilyn Carson (Alan), and Sharon Lewis (late Ross); grandchildren, Courtney, Brianna, Austin, Kelsey, Colby (Amy), and Cassidy; great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Jaxson and Theodore, also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to Brian’s parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Jeannette in 2023; siblings, Betty Cormier (late Louis), Michael Rietzel (late Barb), Dorothy Bennett (late Ed), Ossie DeWolfe (late Carol), Donnie DeWolfe (Leola), Arnold Rietzel Jr. (Joyce), Charles Rietzel, Jim Rietzel, Velma Breau (late Gerry) and Patsy Leblanc (late Raymond).

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fergusons Riverview Funeral Centre, 214 Pine Glen Rd., Riverview, NB., E1B 1V6, (506- 857-9544) where a service to celebrate Brian’s life will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 1:00pm.

Interment will be held at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in the spring of 2026.
