Obituary of Ralph Wood

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ralph Darrah Wood, of Riverview, at the age of 84, at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital on Saturday, September 20th, 2025. Born on May 14th, 1941, Ralph was the son of the late Harry and Margaret (nee: Colpitts) Wood.

Ralph had a distinguished career, first spending 20 years working at CN. After retirement, he worked at Fairmount as a custodian. He cherished his time there and formed lasting bonds with many. Ralph loved meeting new people and could often be found in conversation, sharing his stories and enjoying the company of others.

A resident of Albert County, Ralph had a deep love for his home and the people around him. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret, his stepchildren Kim (Scott) and George, as well as many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his daughter, Melody, and his brother, Roderick.

In keeping with Ralph’s wishes, cremation has taken place at Fergusons Crematorium, and no funeral service will be held. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital for their compassion and care during Ralph’s final days.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
