Obituary of Kevin Michael Smith

Kevin Michael Smith of Berry Mills, NB passed away suddenly at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Amherst, NS. A special thanks to the wonderful nursing care that Kevin and the family received during this difficult time.

Born in Amherst, NS, on December 24, 1972, he was the “Perfect” son of Rachel Smith (Gould) and the late Stewart Smith. Kevin was employed with Organigram Moncton as a Business Analyst and enjoyed working with his team solving problems. His family was his whole world and passion, his sons were his first priority which shows through the wonderful young men they are growing into. Kevin and Melissa were soulmates and fortunate enough to have a special love, envied by all who knew them.

Kevin loved his Kitty, fishing, researching, reading, gardening and exploring new ways to grow plants. He was always available for everyone and always willing to help at the drop of a hat. Kevin lived by the motto “Happy wife happy life.”

Kevin is survived by his mother Rachel (Gould) Smith; wife and best friend, Melissa (Robinson) Smith; their boys, Connor and Alex Smith; sister, Kimberly Smith (Todd) ; sister-in-law, Carol Steeves (Bruce); father-in-law, James Robinson; aunt, Carol Gothreau (late John); Erna Beauclair; great aunt, Carmel Doucet; adopted family member, Gerald W. Horseman; also by several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Kevin was predeceased by his father, Stewart Smith (2023); mother-in-law, Cheryl Rushton (2019); uncle, George Gould (1990).

A celebration of life will be held at Fergusons Riverview Funeral Centre, 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview, on Thursday September 18th 2025 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, there will be an open mic for anyone who would like to share a story about Kevin or share a word of encouragement.
