Obituary of Rita Oulton

Rita Oulton, of Pine Glen, New Brunswick, passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax, NS on Thursday, August 14, 2025, surrounded by her cherished family.

Born on October 18, 1954, in Bouctouche, NB, Rita made her home in Riverview with her soulmate and husband of 40 years, Howard Oulton. Those who knew Rita were touched by her remarkable gift of knowing exactly what someone needed and offering her help with unwavering kindness. She was a caregiver by nature, always willing to support others, whether you’d known her for years or just met her that day. Whoever you were and wherever you may have run into her, you would always be greeted by her big smile, a fixture of her positive attitude and representation of the genuine kindness and care radiating from within.

Rita’s legacy lives on through her devoted husband and the love of her life Howard; her children, Kathleen, Bernadette, Tammy (Danny), Dawn (Jordan), Miachel (Darrin), Shane, and James; her beloved grandchildren, Katelin (Kendall), Allison (Amy), Emily (Daniel), Brandon, Wyat, Rayden, Griffin, and Xander; and her great-grandchildren, Lexie and Kiera. She is also survived by her sisters Claudette, Irene, and Diane, and brothers David, Ivan, and Jerry. Rita is survived by several nieces, nephews, and many special friends.

She was predeceased by her sister Juliette; brothers Leo and Andrew; and her parents Bernadette and Lionel LeBlanc.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Rita’s life and share their memories at Fergusons Riverview Funeral Centre, 214 Pine Glen Road, Riverview (506-857-9544) on Thursday, August 21, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm from Fergusons Riverview Community Chapel.
