Obituary of Scott W. Mitton

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Scott W. Mitton, who tragically lost his life on Wednesday August 6th, 2025, along with three others, including his cousin Tayte.

Born in Moncton, N.B., on January 2nd, 2002, Scott was the cherished son of Wade Mitton and Noelle Burrell, and the loving brother of Kyle Mitton. He was the treasured grandson of Orville and Heather Burrell, and Heather and Lee Killam, and was predeceased by his grandparents, Wayne and Judy Mitton, and his uncle, Josh.

Scott was a kind, thoughtful, and generous young man, with an unwavering curiosity and a calling to help and protect others. He loved spending time with friends and was deeply committed to giving back to his community, volunteering with organizations such as The Humanity Project and the J.O.S.H. Project.

A graduate of Riverview High School, Scott dreamed of starting his own business. For the past three years, he dedicated himself to training in landscaping and exploring other fields in preparation for this goal.

Family and friends will gather to honour and celebrate Scott’s life. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14th at Fergusons Riverview Funeral Centre, 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview between the hours of 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 15th, 2025 at Tidal Church Life Centre (formerly known as the Moncton Wesleyan Church), 945 St. George BLVD, Moncton, NB at 1:00 pm.

We will reflect on the 23 wonderful years we were blessed to share with him. While his life was far too short, we find comfort in his Christian faith and the impact he made in the lives of those who knew him.
