The family of Joseph Gabriel, sadly announcing his peaceful passing at the CHU Dr. G.L. Dumont Hospital, surrounded by his family on Thursday July 24, 2025, at the age of 79 years.
Joseph was born in Stephenville, NFLD on July 30, 1945, he was the son of the late Prime and Clara Gabriel. Gabriel had 12 siblings; he is survived by his last remaining sibling Carolyn (Sears) Keating.
Joseph worked in construction for most of his life and started driving cab in his semi-retirement days. He loved to travel, dance, he enjoyed fishing and the outdoors, and Joseph will be known for being able to “fix anything”.
Joseph will be missed by his wife, Mary Gabriel; daughters, Susan (Andy), Karen (Carlos), and Sandra; grandchildren, Brendon, Carlos, Thalia, Tiffany, Chantelle.
In keeping with Joseph’s wishes, there will be no public services held. Cremation will take place at Fergusons Crematorium, Riverview, NB and he will then be taken home to New Foundland.
In memory of Joseph, donations can be made to the Parkinsons Foundation, or to the Salvation Army, to help families in need.
