Here she built a life centered around her children and good friends. She embarked on a nearly 3-decade career working in the water quality dept for the Federal Government. She loved cooking, gardening and travel. She has visited many places all over the world.
After retirement , she initially sold the family home and returned to Bangladesh for the cold months and would stay spring and summer in Massachusetts with her son and her oldest grandchildren. In 2002 she returned to Moncton and built a home where she resided for the duration. During this time she developed a very close relationship with the Bengali community and the Moncton Muslim community which was something she was blessed to have.
