Obituary of Melvin Henry Soucie
Melvin Henry Soucie of Lakeville, passed away after a sudden illness at the Moncton Hospital on Friday, May 2, 2025, at the age of 62 years.
Mel worked at the Co-op Foods Warehouse on Record St. Moncton for 28 years, until its closure, and worked for Capital Food Services before finding his niche at the Lakeside Golf Course where he enjoyed working as a ground’s keeper. Mel was an avid Harley Davidson lover and a life long fan of the Montreal Canadiens and New England Patriots. He enjoyed reading books and watching movies in his spare time and had a heart of gold for his many friends and neighbours who he was always there for to lend a helping hand.
Mel is survived by his loving parents Jerome and Evangeline Soucie of Moncton; sister, Brenda O’Neil (Brian Donaghy) of Notre Dame; step sister, Dorothy March (Ray) of Riverview; sons, Christopher Soucie of Halifax and Jeremy Soucie of Dieppe; niece, Jami O’Neil of Fernie, BC; nephew, Thomas O’Neil of Dieppe.
Mel was predeceased by his step-sister, Cathy Mickleson.
The family will be receiving family and friends at Fergusons Riverview Funeral Centre, 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview on Friday, May 9, 2025 between the hours of 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
