Obituary of Jason Rheaume
Jason Logan Rheaume, passed away unexpectedly at the Moncton Hospital, on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at the age of 17 years.
Born in Moncton and raised in Riverview, he is the son of Jessika and Stefeny Rheaume of Riverview. Jason was a grade 12 student at Riverview High School and was looking forward to graduating in a few months.
Jason was a sweet boy who lived and loved quietly but fiercely. Born into a geeky family, Jason inevitably cultivated a love of video games, enjoying favourites over the years like Skyrim, Splatoon, Pikmin with Mom, the Legend of Zelda series with Karlie, Roblox, Fortnite, as well as the classic old school Nintendo games. As a younger boy, Jason greatly enjoyed reading books, he was a voracious reader up through middle school, and enjoyed his walks to the library with Dad for reading a special book and checking some out for later. Family time consisted of movie nights, hiking trips to Mount Carleton and Fundy, dinner dates, waffles and lemonade at the Market, and board game nights.
Highly intelligent, Jason joined the Navy League Codiac 193 cadet corps, and was recognized for his leadership being named coxswain (highest ranking cadet) and winning awards. Jason loved his time in cadets and continued that by joining the 101 Moncton Air Cadet squadron, having completed 3 years in that program.
In later years he lived for his circle of friends, where he enjoyed rap music, hip hop culture, and a passion for cannabis culture. He wanted to pursue this passion into an entrepreneurial career that involved the production and marketing of cannabis products. His favourite foods were burgers, pizza, filet mignon steaks, and of course his unnatural love of Goldfish crackers (which he considered as his own food group). He also made a mean bannock bread that was cherished by anyone who had the pleasure of trying it.
Besides his parents Jessika and Stefeny, Jason is survived by his sister, Karlie Rheaume of Sackville, NB; his maternal grandparents, Mona Imough of Beresford, NB, and Michael Lavigne of Bathurst, NB; paternal grandparents, Suzanne Fex (James Neville) of Elliot Lake, ON, and Rene Fex (Jillene) of Oroville, Washington; aunts Linda Gingerich (Tim), and Joanne Cameron (Jamie Rowntree) both of Magnetawan, ON; cousins, Michael, Preston, and William all of Magnetawan; Jason will be missed by his devoted dog, Chewie.
In keeping with the wishes of the family, a private celebration of life will be held. Social media posts are encouraged to use the hashtag #LLJR for Long Live Jason Rheaume.
