Dear John and family:
Today I found that Shirley is finally no longer suffering. Our families have had some interesting times together. My first memory is camping at Sabago Lake where Shirley introduced the cream Desitin for my sunburn. May THE LORD be very near as you wait to have your mourning turned into joy upon seeing her again.

Dear John and family. My condolences to each of you. Shirley was my lovely Sunday school teacher at Union St Baptist Church in Fredericton. I remember when she was preparing to get married and move away, she expressed how deeply she wanted each of us in her class to follow Jesus. I'll never forget that; she left a lasting impact on me. In my early teens my life with Jesus did begin, and I look forward to sharing in the joy of being in the presence of Jesus when my time comes to join her. I'm trusting our Lord to comfort you in this sad season of your family life.

To Mark, John, Heather, Amy and family. Please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of your mom. To Mark, John ,Heather, Amy and families.
I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. Shirley (who will always be “Mrs Lean” to me) was a wonderful, wonderful woman. I know this because I was one of the kids who grew up on her street causing her a great deal of grief by getting Mark into trouble again and again….and again! Frankly we were little terrors. In spite of all of the anxiety we kids caused, she was always incredibly kind, welcoming, patient, and fortunately for me, very forgiving. Mark was my closest friend growing up. The times that you all allowed me to be part of your family, in your home, at your cottage and on Hebron Street in general, will always be cherished memories for me. We were fortunate to have Mrs Lean as one of the guardians of Hebron St.
Nothing can prepare us for the loss of a loved one. We can only hope that our grief will be eased by the knowledge that we were lucky enough to have her in our lives.
You have our deepest sympathies.

Hello Amy, Jeff and your entire family. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your dear Mom, Amy. The obituary tells a wonderful story of a women loved by many. It sounds like she was very active, and I suspect she had a positive and lasting impact on many people through these various activities. As you are experiencing, this is a time of seemingly conflicting experiences. You will miss your Mom, especially at certain times. But you will also be greatly comforted and strengthened through your justifiable pride and joy having known her and calling her your Mom! I am praying that God is near and strong for you.
