To Mark, John ,Heather, Amy and families.
I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. Shirley (who will always be “Mrs Lean” to me) was a wonderful, wonderful woman. I know this because I was one of the kids who grew up on her street causing her a great deal of grief by getting Mark into trouble again and again….and again! Frankly we were little terrors. In spite of all of the anxiety we kids caused, she was always incredibly kind, welcoming, patient, and fortunately for me, very forgiving. Mark was my closest friend growing up. The times that you all allowed me to be part of your family, in your home, at your cottage and on Hebron Street in general, will always be cherished memories for me. We were fortunate to have Mrs Lean as one of the guardians of Hebron St.
Nothing can prepare us for the loss of a loved one. We can only hope that our grief will be eased by the knowledge that we were lucky enough to have her in our lives.
You have our deepest sympathies.
